Xeomin® Injections
Frowning and squinting cause a breakdown of the collagen beneath the smooth skin between your eyebrows. Over time, contractions of the muscles under this area of skin lead to frown lines, or the distinctive “11” between the eyebrows. This can result in a worried or grumpy look even when you are not frowning. Xeomin®, an FDA-approved facial filler, is the newest of injectables and facial fillers used in the fight against these wrinkles.
Xeomin is a more purified form of Botox®. Like Botox and Dysport®, Xeomin is a derivative of the botulinum toxin. It blocks muscle movement, so the muscles relax, causing the overlying skin to lay smoother, thus eliminating or softening the glabellar lines.
Even though the muscle activity is inhibited, injections of Xeomin do not result in a “frozen look.” You can still be expressive with your face while the injections prevent excess movement of the skin in that area. Xeomin is used to reduce the appearance of existing lines and wrinkles, and it also prevents new wrinkles from forming due to the inhibited muscle movement.
Xeomin Injections
Xeomin injections are used to soften expressions, and they produce a fresh, rejuvenated look to the upper face. These injections are a non-surgical alternative to reduce moderate to severe wrinkles in the glabellar area. Xeomin can also be used to treat crow’s feet and wrinkles in the forehead.
Treatments with Xeomin take a short period of time, about 10–20 minutes. They are also relatively painless and given without anesthetic. Any discomfort can be minimized with the use of numbing cream or an ice pack.
Results with Xeomin are noticeable within a week, and improvements continue for up to a month. The end result usually lasts from three to four months. Repeat treatments will help maintain your youthful look.
Moderate to severe frown lines can make you look older. Xeomin injections minimize those lines and give you a younger looking appearance. Find out more about this product by scheduling a consultation appointment with Dr. Khosh or Michele Rivard, PA. Contact Creative Facial Aesthetics located in NYC.
